Pracownicy i współpracownicy Zakładu Archeologii Podwodnej Instytutu Archeologii Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego zapraszają na II Warszawskie Forum Archeologii Podwodnej (2nd Warsaw Seminar on Underwater Archaeology). Konferencja odbędzie się w najbliższy weekend, 14 – 15 stycznia 2017 r. w Warszawie, w budynku Szkoły Głównej Instytutu Archeologii UW oraz Sali Kolumnowej Wydziału Historycznego UW (ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28).
Jest to już drugie spotkanie archeologów podwodnych, które odbędzie się w Warszawie. Tym razem do wymiany doświadczeń na forum konferencyjnym zgłosili się badacze z całego świata (m.in. Australia, Nigeria, Iran, Włochy, Norwegia, Niemcy, Chorwacja, Słowenia, Słowacja, Ukraina oraz Polska). Zaplanowane referaty dotyczą badań terenowych oraz gabinetowych, odnoszą się do najnowszych zdobyczy techniki i ich wpływu na metodykę badań podwodnych oraz prezentują działalność ośrodków akademickich i muzealnych w zakresie ochrony podwodnego dziedzictwa kulturowego. Spotkanie objęła patronatem grupa UNESCO Unitwin Network for Underwater Archaeology, której Instytut Archeologii UW jest członkiem od roku 2014.
